House BellaVida

Salt Rock, Kwazulu Natal
2015

House Bellavida is situated in Salt Rock, north of Durban. The house plan layout has been designed on an east west axis direction in order to take most advantage of the sun and ventilation as well as the Indian ocean views on the horizon.

The house is elevated over the natural ground and the garages on the ground floor, with the main house on the first floor. The main living area is situated in the centre with the guest rooms to the left and the main bedroom to the right. All opens up onto the elevated “floating” deck and pool.

Architecturally, it is an elevated steel structure that takes most advantage of the Indian Ocean views and the morning sun. The steel roof acts as a "floating umbrella" that opens up towards the northern sun while cantilevering over the sun terrace to cater for the much needed protection from the elements. This is one of our most beautiful houses in South Africa
