House Simumba

Lusaka, Zambia

House Simumba is situated in a plot populated with large mature trees in the outskirt of Lusaka, Zambia.

The house plan is designed in separate blocks that meander around the existing trees. These blocks house the different functions of the house with the living-entertainment-family area in the centre of the house plan design.

Aesthetically, the house is a combination of local established building techniques with a modern take. The hipped roof structures and flat roof concrete slabs interact to give the house a modern contemporary look.
