House Kantor

House Kantor is a completely Off-the-grid house designed in a rural area outside the town of Swellendam. The home will be fully built out of certified sustainable tropical hardwood timber imported from Malaysia.

The house plan is single storey and it features an open plan living area, large stoep, and a main bedroom block that is connected to the main living area through an open plan study area. There will also be 2 self-contained cottages and a large barn-like building that will act as a garage for a large motor home as well as the client’s timber workshop.

Aesthetically, the structure is certified sustainable tropical hardwood timber, the floors are suspended timber joists with hardwood flooring boards, and the walls are insulated light-weight panels cladded with tropical hardwood siding.
