This is an ideal plan for a private residential estate in the middle of the African bush or a large plot in the outskirts of a busy city. The house plan layout features a service area behind, with the main house in front opening up onto the bushveld or private garden. The main house is divided into 3 areas with the open plan living area in the middle flanked to the right by the guest rooms and the main bedroom and private gym and study to the left. The main living area in turn opens up onto the covered stoep and the splash pool. All bedrooms are en-suite.
Aesthetically, the house is a vernacular interpretation of the bushveld. Its laminated timber roof opens up towards the north in ales that allow maximum winter daylight penetration while keeping the sun out in summer. In the main living area, the roof is designed in different levels so that lighting and ventilation is done effectively from the front to the deep back sections of the house.
